I just started designing my header, decided to hit "Preview" and this
came up (see below):

First, I had already deleted the image, so the photo should not still
be showing up;
Second, the bigger worry is that for some reason the text is printing
out vertically, rather than standard horizontal.

I hadn't messed with any HTML/settings, just started in typing. What
happened? How to fix this without going into HTML (know nothing about
that).  If this can't be easily fixed, can I simply DELETE this entire
blog???????????

Is working with blogger typically problematic? Should I look
elsewhere?

Your blog appears normal to me. No photo in the header, text is
horizontal (not vertical as you claimed)
I am using internet explorer 7.
